My Music
In addition to my experience as a writer, editor, and media producer, I like to make music of my own using Ableton Live. I have released four of my own songs personally over the years as I have learned and experimented with songwriting, recording, and audio production techniques.
Additionally, I produced an EP, “Now Here to Go” for my college band, Spin the Clouds. These songs were written collectively, recorded at the end of a semester on a very rushed and tight-timeline, and then produced by me over winter break with feedback from members of the band and my friend (and Grinnell legend) Hayden Suarez-Davis.
Please find all of my released music on this page. I do feel compelled to say that I wrote and produced this music solely for entertainment and because of my passion for creativity, and that, therefore, these tracks can be rough around the edges. If you’ve produced music before, you can relate. Many times, after listening to the songs over and over and over as you make small tweaks and experiment with so many things, just getting the song done and released is more important than getting it ‘perfect.’ My approach would be different if I was producing music for someone else or for a more public/commercial context.
I believe that, as I have gained more experience, I have rapidly grown as a creative music producer. I made the decision to post all of my music here to show the progress I have made over time. Especially after recording and producing Scarlet Sessions, I feel I am much more capable of professional music production. The songs are organized chronologically, from most recent, to my very first song released. Listen for the change in my sound and production technique over time.
I would be ecstatic about the opportunity to collaborate on and produce your music, especially if you’re interested in making lofi/indie-rock/shoegaze stuff; that’s certainly my production wheelhouse.
