I worked as a journalist for Grinnell College’s independent student newspaper, The Scarlet & Black, for 4 semesters. I was a staff writer for two semesters, the Arts Editor for a semester, and the Audio Editor during my last semester. Below is a selection of my work that I am most proud of. Podcast Episode: This is the live audio from the Writers@Grinnell event (4/10/2025), Immersion Journalism: A Roundtable, with author and journalist Jessica Bruder. This marks 2025's annual installment of the "Mando" Memorial Lecture series, established to honor the life of Armando Alters Montaño `12.

Roundtable: Oliver Wolfe `25 (Audio Editor, S&B), Charlotte Krone `25 (Editor in Chief, S&B), Diane Alters `71 (Mother of Mando, journalist), and Jessica Bruder.

Working as a writer, a section editor, and the audio editor for my student newspaper has led me to think of myself as a competent journalist in many differing ways. Throughout this experience, I have grown as a writer, an interviewer, an engaged community member, and a creative storyteller. I hope to continue writing, editing, and storytelling no matter where I go.

I am available for journalism-related projects.
